Position Announcement

 

Deconstruction Services Manager

 

 

Habitat ReStore of Kansas City is seeking a Deconstruction Services Manager for its very successful deconstruction program of hand-dismantling residential houses for salvage.  

 

 

Position Responsibilities: The deconstruction manager is responsible for all aspects related to the daily operation of Habitat ReStore’s Deconstruction Services program.

 

 

Location:  4701 Deramus Ave., Kansas City, MO

 

Status:  Full time, salaried, with benefits

 

 

Position Tasks and Duties:

 

1)      Manage deconstruction projects, including: bidding, scheduling, permitting, coordinating staff and subcontractors, performing cost control and project closeout.

 

2)      Recruit and orientate incoming deconstruction crew members.

 

3)      Prospect and contact potential clients; submit bid proposals based on visual inspection of property.

 

4)      Maintain accurate records of all projects.

 

5)      Enforce and adhere to Deconstruction Services’ and OSHA safety program and train all deconstruction staff in its use. Continually monitor and adjust as necessary.

 

6)      Periodically review Deconstruction Services plan with Habitat ReStore Associate Director and implement necessary adjustments.

 

7)      Foster a positive healthy work environment for all Deconstruction Services staff.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

1)      Residential construction knowledge; licensed contractor preferred.

 

2)      Strong supervisory skills are a must; experience in a construction setting a plus.

 

3)      Must be well organized and computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, QuickBooks).

 

4)      Strong business, process improvement and project management skills.

 

5)      Must be capable of managing an annual budget of $500,000 or more.

 

6)      Must posses a good driving record and valid drivers’ license.

 

7)      Must be neat in appearance and have exceptional customer relations skills.

 

 

Hours:

 

            Typical 40-hour workweek to be performed:  Monday – Friday,
